About Teen IOP
What is Intensive Outpatient Treatment for Teens?
Intensive outpatient program for teens is designed to help adolescents dealing with addiction or mental health challenges. Teen IOPs specialize in providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes healthy coping skills, self-awareness, and respect. Adolescent intensive outpatient programs focus on helping teens build a strong foundation of recovery and learn how to manage their emotions, cope with stress, problem solve, and build healthy relationships.
Teen IOP vs Teen PHP
A teen intensive outpatient program (Teen IOP) differs from a teen partial hospitalization program (Teen PHP) in a couple of ways. IOP programs are less restrictive but still provide the same intensive level of care as PHP. Teens can participate in an IOP while still living at home, attending school, and participating in other activities. While teens will still live at home during PHP, they spend the entire day at the treatment center, five days a week. PHP is a better option for teens with serious mental health issues or those who need more structure and supervision. If you feel your family needs the highest level of care, learn about our teen residential treatment program.
Key Healthcare Admissions
Our Teen IOP Admission Process
At Key Healthcare, we strive to make the admission process for our teen intensive outpatient program as easy and stress-free as possible. To begin our admissions process, you will need to submit our online form or call us. From there, we will send a pre-assessment survey that will help our clinical director evaluate your child’s behavior, level of functioning and help us understand any underlying mental health conditions.
During this time, our admissions team will also gather your insurance information so we can verify coverage for our adolescent outpatient treatment program. Based on the information gathered during the initial assessment, we will begin to develop an individualized teen treatment plan.
We understand how scary it can be to send your child to an adolescent intensive outpatient program, so we often have parents visit our center to see what it’s like. This provides peace of mind that your child is in good hands. You’ll be able to see our therapy rooms and recreation areas and meet with the Key Healthcare staff. Once you feel comfortable, we will get your child enrolled and on the road to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
