Youth Development Programs for Bell Adolescents

We know that helping Bell teens who face mental health or substance abuse challenges is about more than just following a strict care plan. We support teens throughout their journey by building up their confidence, advocating for them, and teaching simple skills like working as a team, communicating clearly, handling daily tasks, solving problems, and standing up for themselves.

We also help them set achievable goals and work toward their career dreams. However, recovery is a continuous process that continues even after our residential treatment program ends. That’s why we’ve created a list of local youth programs where teens can use what they’ve learned and explore new opportunities close to home.

Dodgers Dreamteam - City of Bell RBI

  • Dodgers Dreamteam is a sports-based youth development program that uses the power of sport to help teens stay active without judgment. Here, teens can enjoy athletic experiences that were once only available to elite athletes.
  • When your teen registers for Dodgers Dreamteam, they get access to sports training along with equipment, uniforms, Dodger Days, fitness and nutrition education, coach training, player development sessions, and college & career accelerator workshops.
  • Playing sports is not just good for the body; it’s great for teens’ mental health, too. When teens play, their brains release chemicals like endorphins and dopamine that make them feel happy and focused. This boost helps improve concentration, coordination, and social skills, making it easier to tackle schoolwork and everyday challenges.

High School Counseling Resources for Bell Adolescents

When teens struggle with behavioral and emotional issues, it often affects their academic performance. That’s where high school counselors play a vital role by helping them overcome these challenges. They work with teens to understand what’s hindering them, address those problems, and create a robust support network of parents, teachers, and peers for continuous feedback.

Since the high school counselor’s role is so important in the teen healing journey both before and after our RTC program, we’ve gathered a list of high schools and their counseling information in Bell. We recommend that teens and parents take a look at the counseling sessions and support provided by your teen’s Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)

Find Your Teenager's Fitness Flow in Bell, CA

One of the key approaches we use in our program is yoga therapy. But why is it an important part of our treatment? It helps lower anxiety, ease stress, and bring a sense of calm, a key to healing. By mixing simple breathing exercises with focused attention, yoga activates the body’s natural relaxation response, helping teens feel more at ease and grounded.

Through yoga, teens learn to let go of negative thoughts and self-doubt by staying present in the moment. Over time, this practice not only reduces the risk of relapse but also supports long-term recovery. And remember, the journey doesn’t stop when our program ends.

Staying active is key to keeping that progress going. Whether it’s continuing with yoga, trying out martial arts, hitting the gym, or even dancing, these activities help teens hold on to the positive habits they’ve built during our program.

These practices bring balance, stability, and a sense of purpose back into their lives. To help your teen even more, we’ve compiled a list of information about a fitness center in Bell.
