What to Expect During Our Teen Extended Care Program
Three healthy meals will be provided for teens each day. We incorporate foods that are not only nutritious but also that support recovery and brain development.
Teens in our program will have access to a variety of recreational activities during the week and on the weekend such as rock climbing, surfing, volunteering, bowling, movie nights, and more.
LIFE SKILLS GROUPS
Teens will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of life skills groups that focus on topics such as anger management, impulse control, relationships, values and principles, and budgeting.
Teens will also have access to academic support to help them stay on track with their studies. School curriculum and credit recovery are completed through Mission Academy School.
Teens will take part in daily chores and activities that help teach them accountability and responsibility. This includes things like laundry, meal prep and cooking, and cleaning.
All patients will attend teen 12-step meetings (both AA and NA) with a supportive peer group to help them stay on track with their recovery. Teens will attend these meetings daily.
Teens will be encouraged to participate in daily physical activities like yoga, running, and strength training which help teens develop a routine and stay healthy throughout recovery.
