Parent Education Series
Real tools. Real conversations. Real support for parents of teens.
Raising teens today can feel overwhelming. Between social media, mental health challenges, and the constant push and pull of adolescence, it’s not always clear what works or who to ask. Most parents tell us the same thing: they want a space where they can drop the performance, ask honest questions, and learn from people who get it.
Our Parent Education Series is one of the few support groups for parents of teenagers in Los Angeles led by a licensed adolescent therapist. Each session blends practical education with open, peer-to-peer discussion, so you leave with usable strategies.
“This is not a lecture. It’s a collaborative space for learning, discussion, and support, built specifically for parents navigating the teenage years.”
Whether your teen is doing well and you want to stay ahead of what’s next, or you’re in the middle of a hard season (anxiety, depression, defiance, school refusal, substance use), this group meets you where you are. Many of the parents who attend are also looking for support groups for parents of troubled teens or parent support groups for teenage depression; you’ll find both perspectives here, and the room makes space for all of it.

Your Facilitator
Led by Sidney Williams-Goldberg, AMFT
Sidney is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works exclusively with adolescents and their families. She’s spent her career sitting with parents in the hardest moments of raising a teen, and helping them find their way back to connection, clarity, and confidence.
Each session she leads is designed to feel less like a workshop and more like a conversation among people who get it. She brings the clinical lens; you bring your real life. The group brings everything else.

Support for Parents
Frequently asked questions
Is this really a free support group for parents of teens?
Yes. Every session in the Parent Education Series is completely free to attend. Key Healthcare runs this as a community service. You don’t need to be a current or former client, and there’s no pitch at the end. Parking is free at the West LA office.
I'm specifically looking for support groups for parents of troubled teens, is this the right fit?
Many parents who attend are in the thick of it: defiance, school refusal, anxiety, substance use, depression. The group is designed to hold both ends of the spectrum: parents who want to stay ahead of what’s coming, and parents who are in a hard season right now. Sidney Williams-Goldberg, AMFT, is trained to make sure no one feels out of place.
Are there parent support groups for teenage depression specifically?
Yes, this parent support group addresses adolescent depression, including withdrawal and shutdown behaviors. If you’re facing a more urgent situation, we encourage you to call (424) 704-9455 to explore clinical support options for your teen.
Do I have to commit to all the sessions?
No, there’s no long-term commitment required. You’re welcome to drop into any session
Will my teen be there?
No. This is a parents-only space. Many parents tell us this is exactly what they needed: a room where they can speak honestly without managing how their teen is hearing it.
I'm a teenage parent. Is this support group for me?
This series is built for parents of teenagers, not for parents who are teens themselves. If you’re a young parent looking for support groups for teenage parents, we’d be glad to connect you with community organizations that specialize in teen-parent peer support.
