What Makes Key Different

Teens only

Adolescents exclusively since day one. Teens build trust differently, and we never split focus across age groups.

Small groups (6 max)

More clinical attention per teen and real flexibility, never filling beds at the expense of fit.

Privately owned, on-site daily

No corporate layer or outside investors. The owners run the program and are here every day.

80+ years combined

Deep, trauma-informed clinical expertise across our team.

Family-centered

Multi-family therapy, individual family sessions, and parent support.

Full step-down care

A complete continuum, RTC to PHP to IOP, for a steady transition home.

The right treatment for each teen

No two teens arrive the same. With a small census and a broad clinical toolkit, we build each plan around the individual and adjust as they respond, not from a fixed menu.

The Key Method

Past, present, and future, addressed together

Past

What got them here

Trauma, developmental history, and the patterns that formed long before the crisis. This is the foundation for real clinical impact.

Present

The here and now

Intensive, daily treatment that meets your teen where they are, addressing the behaviors and the issues driving them.

Future

Built together

From day one we work with the whole family, building the communication and dynamics that make progress at home possible.

Is This Your Teen?

Are these substance-use warning signs at home?

Secretive behavior or hiding things
Sudden change in friend group
Mood swings or irritability
Declining grades or school avoidance
Loss of interest in activities they loved
Money or valuables going missing
Bloodshot eyes, weight changes, or fatigue
Smelling of alcohol or smoke
Finding paraphernalia
Increased risk-taking or rule-breaking

Substance use rarely starts loud. When these signs show up consistently, it may be time for a higher level of support.

Teen Substance Use Treatment

Specialized care for what your teen is using

Alcohol

Early intervention protects a developing brain and body. We help teens stop and address what’s underneath.

Marijuana

The most common teen substance. We help reduce use and treat the stress or mental health driving it.

Opioids

High-risk and fast-moving. Medical oversight plus therapy to keep your teen safe and moving forward.

Cocaine & stimulants

Stimulant use puts teens at serious risk. We treat the use and the patterns behind it.

Prescriptions & Xanax

Misuse of Xanax and other prescriptions is treated with careful medical and clinical support.

Dual Diagnosis

When substance use rides alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, or self-harm, we treat both together.

Have Questions?

Common questions from parents

What substances do you treat?

Alcohol, marijuana, opioids, cocaine and stimulants, and prescription misuse including Xanax. We also treat co-occurring mental health conditions alongside substance use.

Is residential treatment right for my teen?

Residential (RTC) is 24/7 on-site care for teens whose use can’t be safely managed at home or in outpatient. Our clinical team assesses the right level of care for your teen.

Does insurance cover substance use treatment?

Most major plans do, and federal parity law requires many plans to cover it like other medical care. Use the confidential form on this page. Your provider isn’t notified that you checked.

How long does treatment last?

Residential typically runs 30–90 days; PHP and IOP continue for several weeks based on progress. We re-evaluate regularly and plan a safe, step-down transition.

Can you treat substance use and mental health together?

Yes. Dual diagnosis is a specialty here. Substance use and underlying mental health rarely travel alone, so we treat both in one coordinated plan.
